the cinematheque

there was an exhibit of dennis hopper and other american stuff which made me feel incredibly nationalistic. [in a later fit of this nationalism, i bought some kerouac where he talked about his french ancestry....]
the most wonderful elements were dennis’ black and white photographs, but pictures weren’t really permitted. i did however get this, which is a portrait of dennis hopper by julian schnabel.

portrait of exene cervenka by viggo mortensen which i love immensely.

letter from norman mclaren to henri langlois. there were lots of other letters, but this was the only ~sparkly~ one.

between these stairs and the cinematheque there is a park, and beyond these stairs is the simone de beauvoir bridge.

this says ‘zen’, but my feet are not that tiny, so no ‘n’

these are at the top, too, to say hello

looking out over the river, i experienced the first of many sensations where i dreamily convinced myself that riding a boat like this would be a really fun, non-sickening time.

simoneĀ  bridge, and bibliotheque!

a cinema with a dvd store, a book/music store, a restaurant called ‘chez jules et jim’, and automated ticket dispensers.
i tried to use an automated dispenser in antwerp, but failed miserably.

this was near my [lovely] hostel, and in the centre there is a really cute, tall rectangular thing.. it is in three segments, which you can spin horizontally to make a matching person. i walked past it a lot and only saw men in their late 30s-40s playing with it.
